Gatherings for men gaining in popularity

CREATED May. 3, 2012

Omaha, NE - All of our mothers took part in your typical tupperware party.  The days of Betty and the girls getting together has taken a sharp turn.

Call it tupperware on testosterone or Mary Kay on steroids.  They are parties for men.  Drinking buddies getting together to bond, buy grilling items and gadgets and stock their mancaves.  There is free beer.  The host of the mancave party gets a commission on whatever he sells.  He rolls out a bunch of items to sell to his friends, everything from meats to steak rubs even the guy version of the Bloody Mary, called Bloody Gary.

Josh McMahon of Omaha recently hosted a mancave party, " watching my girlfriend do Mary Kay one night, I decided to see if there was something for men to do, found mancaveworldwide.com on line and decided it was a good idea."

McMahon estimates he made about $500 in sales from his party last weekend.  He is one of only four men in Omaha who are currently hosting these type of parties that are commonly called social selling or direct selling.

This basement located in Forest Hill, Md. is stocked with a variety of manly items, ranging from an Arnold Schwarzenegger pinball up to an estimated $30,000 of signed Michigan and Maryland sports memorabilia covering this construction superintendent's ManCave walls.
